Just thought I’d mention that I’ve now got over 22k on my tyres with at least another 5k life. Never had this before. Am I driving to slow because I’ve got old or are the hard race adjustable camber arms really working. Plus removed the pins from the front towers to get more negative camber so no outside shoulder wear.

I think my average speed is down by 10mph so that must be helping with tyre wear. My mpg has gone from 27 to 33 at the same time. I don’t notice a queue behind me, but then again I own a BMW so I own the road and they shouldn’t be on it anyway…. :P :P

Looked at my mpg today, the car is boringly used for shopping or covid jabs only lately, 22.3 mpg is not a smile inducer :o

It needs a good motorway blast I think :wink:

Goodyear. When my son had his X5 he thought he had done well at 7k. Just wouldn’t get it aligned properly. 90% of the thread with 6mm the inside showing canvas and wire.

Not bad at all and we know these cars have a nasty wear pattern as well as it not taking much to set the alignment out of whack - especially on current UK roads! From memory I think owners were having alignment checks from almost new and finding it all out of spec or at an extreme end very often.

The biggest problem is finding an operator that knows what they are doing. ie which is toe and which is camber, seems obvious but I’ve taken the vehicle away from shops because they clearly didn’t know and as they are the "experts" they are not keen to take advice.

I mentioned a 22 mpg return based on running about on short trips, but today I stretched the legs as it were of my 35d and drove sensibly on the infamous M25 for a reasonable distance. The result, which I'm pleasantly surprised at is below. Never achieved such a return before, but I enjoy driving this car as opposed to tootling around, so will likely not see similar figures ever again. In addition endless HGVs getting pi$$Ed off and overtaking me wasn't much fun either.
