Hi everyone.
Not a new member to BMW as I have had 12 previous ones.
A 1 series, a 2 series, 5 3 series, 2 5 series, 2 6 series and a 7 series - 12 in all starting in the 80's.
I just purchased a 2015 X1 so here I am.
My first question is: all my other BMWs you had to pull the interior door handle twice to open - once to unlock and a second time to open.
My X1 is only once to open. Is this normal?
Hope the forum is as helpful as all the other BMW forums I've been on.

Hello and :hi:

All our BMWs have needed to be pulled twice except for the driver’s door on the X6 which unlocks when the engine is turned off and key removed. Auto-lock is on.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Thank you for the replies. Almost all my BMWs I had to pull twice to open.
You reminded me of what a wise computer tech taught me a long time ago - "RTFM" - read the freaking manual.
I fixed it so I now have to pull twice to get out and I don't have to unlearn old habits.
I believe I'm going to like it here

Hi and welcome , I found auto locking really annoying and turned it off when I got my x5 though the door handles were broke
