I was pointed in the direction of these by an auto electrician.

I met Chris yesterday at his very basic compared to main dealerships workshop. Nothing remotely pretentious and a very non glitzy affair operating in an old barn, but Chris knows his stuff. He confirmed the left ride height sensor was in fact a failed unit, (the cable tie was a clue) which will be attended to next week. He did replace the wiring loom plugs, both were broken and didn't fully engage with the sensors socket. They were pre ordered OE parts at my request and priced a ridiculous £60. He re-pinned old to new, something i wouldn't have been able to do on the ground, even with the wheels off.
As i was there, i enquired about the non functioning headlamp washers. He popped one out the bumper, It transpired the pipework to the washer jets had snapped on both sides. Thats also a fix for next week. What he did do was access the washer bottle, which was predictably gunged up. A straight £100 for that, a third of what i had to pay the main dealers for the same task on my E71. I was in the workshop all the time, watching and learning.
So if you live in the South East, Chris is based in Orpington, Kent. PM me if you would like any more details. The set up is unassuming, but the work was good.
