Help/info, read this has been gone over a lot, some say that the pdc sensors are in series, so if one is out they are all out?

problem is I got 2 working on the front, and 1 working on the rear,, so series or???, and yes they are clicking, some louder than the other, your thoughts would be welcome, just a thought , would swaping a known good one , over to bad ones place, be a good way to test, ????? by the way what a great FORUM, Thank you

If you lose one, you won't lose the function at that end of the vehicle. Front and rear circuits are separate and as far as I know the sensors on each circuit are separate although there is no means on the E53 of telling where the obstacle is - that changed on later models. Swapping a known good one into the place of a known bad one should work.

If you move something into the 'view' of each sensor, you should get the warning beeps changing to a steady tone at about 60cm from the sensor.

Looking at an installation instruction on bimmerretrofit.com, each sensor has a three-wire connection which would tend to indicate +12v, GND and signal? Each sensor seems to have its own wiring colour code and all wires are fed separately back to a control plug in the PDC controller in the boot. The module is to the rear of the battery rear wall, left side module.
