Finally agreed vehicle swap with dealer

Hi guys....have finally managed to register......for some name my previous tag "Fullfast" would never send the confirmation email

If you remember from X5drivers web I was suffering a clonking noise in the rear of my E70 3.0sd SE......well here is a very cut down story

Since purchasing in January it has now been to the garage 6 times
Had BMW UK head tech come and drive in the boot for 25 miles
Initial thought was that spot welds had come apart......
Decided to reject vehicle under the Sale of Goods ACT 1979
Ongoing conversations with dealership and yesterday at 5pm we both decided on the deal that satisfied both parties.....

So I am getting out of the following

2008 E70 3.0sd SE in space grey with 26k miles- Black Nevada Comfort Seats, front seat heating, media pack, 20" y spoke, running boards, high beam assistant, reversing camera, sun protection

...And getting into the following

2008 E70 3.0sd M Sport in Carbon Black with 27k miles - Black exclusive nappa, Seat heat front, media pack, Adaptive drive, adaptive heads, 4 zone aircon, aux heating, powered bootlid, comfort access, dab radio, electric fronts, head up display, highbeam assist, prof stereo, panoramic sunroof, alluminium roof bars, soft close doors, rear side sun blinds, universal remote control, xenons and voice control

I cannot fault the dealership I have been dealing with (where I purchased the original from) BUT the dealership that was initially (for the first 2 visits) was less than useful and I will not be using them again and neither will my wife for her Mini.......

Hopefully pick it up next week....fingers crossed

Firstly welcome back Monkeyman  I do indeed remember your previous posts on the old site. Secondly great news regarding the swap, the MSport looks a great spec and I hope all goes well on handover.

Whilest I know people don't like to name and shame dealers for poor customer satisfaction, it does seem that they are not getting any better at sorting things out. I personaly think that it would be of great assistance to members on here if a list of dealers, both indi and main (good and bad) could be drawn up. No need to go into detail of individual circumstances but just a brief overview.

In respect of the great dealer it was Sytner BMW, High Wycombe

In respect of the bad.....the name is similar to Blooper and location you need to add 1 to Sixoaks...........just so I cant be done for deformation of character.....and all that c**p

That sounds like an awesome deal Monkeyman. I bet you're chuffed with that! :)

I would love to see a list of good dealers, that would be helpful. By region maybe. I realise though the Mods of xdrivers could be entering a political mine field with a large list! :(

Oh yes......it took a while to get the dealer to move to an acceptable price but worth the toughing out.....

Fingers are so tightly crossed that I dont experience the same sort of problem with the new one....

Thanks re the spec....took a while to find it

Well it is now a Mini showroom but they say they still service BMW's......more like the nearest Blooper garage is in Wunbridge Tells would be too far for the Soakies to drive .........

Still it is what it is........

Well done indeed Monkeyman. Used the sale of goods act 1979 also when I had my issues which were resolved satisifactorly (with alot of guidance and support from the guys on the old x5drivers forum, most of whom are on thsi one) and as you said it can take some time (months in my case), however, got a great E70 in the end which is now feeling slighty under speced compared to yours. Good luck with it and enjoy.

................as soon as I get the vehicle I will get some pics of it and post

Is there any reason why you went from SE to M Sport?
