rear wiper function on reverse

i don't know this known but i just reliased that when in reverse and have the rear wiper on on intermittent function it goes to full wipe mode to keep the rear window rain free. as opposed to wiping every 5-10 sec it wipes non stop till you are out of reverse. i thought i would share that since this was a new feature that i found out. i am not sure if this option available on all models. if everyone can confirm this on their vehicle i would appreciate it.

Yep, got it on mine too, 2006 3.0D Sport, passenger side mirror dips too if it's set on the switch.

Yep standard had 2 x5 2001 sport and 2006 le mans both did this

also if u flick the stalk quickly from off to on twice the rear wiper has a quicker wipe setting
handing when my 22's are chucking up the water in the outside lane hehe

What would be better though is not having the rear wipe on at all, and when your fronts are on then when you go in reverse it wipes the rear. Had this on a few cars, well french ones, i mean how many use the rear wipe any ways.

My X has this quick wipe setting at present. It looks as though the wiper arm is going to take off sometimes it wipes that quick

Could you tell me how to take this function off?
