2005 X5 boot well/tool kit

Take delivery of my E53 X5 next week.

Cant wait...
But...when viewing it, I noticed a 'tool' missing from the boot well. When looking at the boot it is on the left closer to the dropped tailgate. Anyone know what should be there?
The dealer thought it should be the tow ball (which is detachable) does this sound right?
Anyone with a pic of a boot well to help?
