One Week On - Report and a few questions

Well i'm just over one week on with the new X5

All still running well.
We had a family trip out to the seaside, loving the V8!!
Still managed 22mpg even with a few overtaking manoeuvres

Jobs wise i've managed to polish out the 6" scratch on the rear quarter. I first used Farecla scratch paste which got rid of the scratch but left it a little hazy. Then some Meguiers Scratch x. I've never attempted this kind of thing because of my experiences of T-Cut (many years ago) Well this really worked! I'm lucky as the scratch was just in the clear coat but made a horrible white line down the car. Wish i'd taken some pictures now.

The bumper still needs spraying, no magic polish will fix that - i think £120 + vat i was quoted . May have to wait a little while as i have tyres to pay for.

Audio

It turns out the car had an iPod system fitted. There was a horrible bracket attached to the dash with broken wires sticking out of it. Luckily all i had to do was remove the Nav screen and undo the bracket, pull the wires through and disconnect at the cd changer end. I was expecting to have to buy an adapter for my ipod/dice as my car has dsp. The standard wires were there so i gave it a try and it all woks fine, dsp as well.

TV & Nav

This is where i could do with a bit of advice

The screen has an flicker every so often. After checking the web i suspected the trafficmaster unit so removed that from the system and although the screen definition is now better i still get the flicker.

When i first bought the car the television function was greyed out on the display, one day it sprung to life now it's disappeared. I guess the flicker issue could linked to this as well.

Is there a way to bypass the TV module to check? Or should i start looking to ebay?
Then of course do i try get a digital one ?
The nav itself works perfectly. this is just a flicker not a re boot.

Any other ideas?

A replacement TV Module from solved the problem, no more flicker and for now analogue TV

I'll have a look into the replacement digital tuners at some point.
