Was this a colour that was only available on a limited edition X5 facelift or via the Individual programme could the original buyer specify this as a colour choice after being relieved of some £££??

Is there anyway of identifying a Le Mans/Exclusive model??

Le Mans is blue only (again I think).

Hey Si,

Apologies for hijacking your thread. But we have answered your question. Look for black and when the sun shines on it, you get the blue come through - that's CB. And it was available to anyone who was willing to pay for the extra. Le Mans was a special edition in 'that' blue colour only.

As for the pi$$ taking. We have 5hep a forum member that got confused with what he had and what he thought he had, until we met him at the last meet and helped him read what it said on the inside wing....

CB I thought was expensive option or run out Limited edition at the end of E53 life.

Used to be colour on E46 and E39 M models

Now optional on Msport models from the E60/e61 onwards I believe.

I love the colour and knew what it was but had in my head they did a Carbon Black edition for some reason!?!

I only ask as I have seen a 2005 X5 diesel in carbon black with OEM 20" Len Mans alloys, wider arches etc and thought it may have been a special edition as seller says not made any changes during his ownership which was from new??

Anyway of checking??

I think there was a CB edition with the Lemans 20"

Just checked buyers guide and the Carbon Black Edition was a prefacelift special model.

So question still stands I guess - is there anyway of knowing if an X5 is a special edition if the seller doesn't know themselves??

Any VIN checks etc that could be checked or is it printed anywhere?

So that's the same effect when slappers dye their black and it is sooo black it gives off a blue tint when the light hits it?

Mine is an 'exclusive' model and has the 20"s with arches like you have seen advertised.

What other options does it have listed? Mine has the comfort seats, pano, elec dimming folding mirrors, graphite cabin trim etc.

I can't recal any designation anywhere on the V5 but think I have seen it listed somewhere. I will have a look later and update if I find something.

Cheers Rusty sounds very similar but no other options that I can think off, just the arches and wheels stood out to me. I have seen in the buyers guide one of the option packs mentions arches and 20"s so maybe it was specced with that in Carbon Black exterior colour.

If you do find where it was mentioned I would be interested to know so I cam be 100% certain.
