I think you may need to be more specific of what you are trying to remove.

I just took an X3 apart, but only the entire boot space which was a bit of a nuisance.

I'm guessing you are refering to the dash/door/center consol trim? If so would also guess that they are similar to the e53 fitment i.e. small plastic push fittings

A couple of pics from realOEM might shed some light for you

You will need a set of trim removal tools 'Snap On' do a set but they can be expensive.

What are you looking to do?

Chompers, yopu are guessing correctly, it is the aluminium trim that I want to remove so that I can try some wrapping.

I was thinking about that option to protect the alluminium......going to look at creative fx in bromley to see if there is a way without removal just to protect it

Interesting, but I cannot see anything on their web site about internal wraps, have you enquired with them?

Whatever you take apart it's worth buying a trim removal tool or kit if you dont have same.

I have seen same for sale online including ebay.

Totally agree with you there AW8, a very handy kit to have.

As for wrapping the intrim in situ, I'm sure it could be done but the additional labour required would fairy add to the cost IMO as it would be harder for the fitter to manipulate the material, in particular around the centre console area.

Completely agree but after the hassle I went through with rattles and squeaks in the old one the less that gets taken to bits in my opinion the better

I've just removed the trim underneath the passenger vent (replacing mine as it rattles!) it simply prises out, I'm using a plastic knife (sanded off the serrated) edge and it prises it off quite easily.

How did you get on OP with the trim removal, Having just purchased an X5 E70 the trim had previously been removed and sprayed in black and its showing wear and tear. I personally want to wrap it.

Ask a place that wraps and they said £380 for all the trim as the time it takes to take the trim off.. I think that is way to expensive and would rather give it a go myself.???
