Well, had the x5 a couple of months now,it needed a new throttle body and a new thermostat in the first couple of weeks, both done under warranty no problem,it's had 2 new parking sensors and I repaired the mid with a new ribbon cable.
Really enjoying the car, surprisingly good handling for such a big car, very comfortable and relaxed drive.Mpg was a bit of a surprise at 15,but 90 % of driving is round town and fortunately I don't do much mileage so it is affordable.Overall very pleased with the car, looks great as well altho some other drivers seem to take an instant dislike to it,whether it's because it's a BMW or a large 4x4 or both I don't know!Great site by the way :)

I think a lot of it is jealousy, followed by the fact it's a BMW, closely followed but a strange belief that it's some vast road hogging lump of metal and shouldn't be there! The 'Greenies' did a good 'spin' job on the facts, especially when the E53 uses the same roadspace as a 5 series and was cleaner than a Vauxhall Vectra.

Unfortunately the anti-4x4 lobby got it's knickers well and truly in a twist and the wrong end of the stick! I had to explain on more than a few occasions that the X5 is not the fume spitting monster that everyone (based on incorrect and rabid anti-vehicle lobby statements) thinks it is. Half the time I'm sure they secretly want one too :D

I loved mine :D

I love my X6 even more 8-)
