I know it has been covered many times on the old forum and I did make a note but have lost now. I have searched and didn't find anything. This is old news for most, but I haven't done anything for a while and wanted to get these installed and was hoping someone could give me a quick breakdown.
I just received my kca 420i off eBay for £50. With both leads.
I will purchase the intravee 2 from toys in ur car.
Just need to know where everything goes. I remember the alpine kca replaces the cd changer, but how does everything fit to the intravee etc. Am I right in thinking will need to buy a longer cable.

If my cd changer is compatable, am I right if I wanted to (more expensive I know) I could buy the al-net switch and keep the cd changer as well. If so how will this be set up.

What other additional features will I gain.

CD changer cable to Intravee, cable from Intravee to Alpine, cable from Alpine to iPod

Cheers pvr that's a start. I was hoping sanj would come to the rescue. That would be the simplest way I guess but I would lose the cd changer and the iPod would be in the boot. How can I get the iPod connection at the front. Plus would it work on the iPhone.

Yes, works on the iPhone but it won't charge the iPhone.

The iPod cable is long so you can get it to the centre console.

Anyone tried a dice mediabridge?

It charges the iPhone if you use a Scosche adaptor.

OHH not again...

The standard cables will reach into the centre console. A few of us have put the KCA under the back seat (there is a small hole/resess big enough to hide it ) and then the cable from the kca will reach the centre console under the carpet with a bit of fiddling.
Yes you can use the switch to keep a compatible cd changer but i'm not sure if they are still available new?

Cool guys, thanks for ur input, I think I can figure it all out now, Im gonna order some jl speakers for the front and get the jl sub and amp fitted that I've had lying around for a few years, not very good DIY, so will take the whole lot and get fitted together.
