Hi All

Been a long time since I’ve been here (since the site change) but i wonder if i could have some advice please

I’m looking to sell the wife’s X5 but haven’t kept up with current market to see what the demand is and what they generally go for.

I was looking for some advice on the sort of price i should be looking for.

Car is.....

(54) Dec 2004 X5 4.4 Sport individual.
59,000 miles
Carbon Black
Champagne Leather with black carpets and dash
Titanium Pack
Side running boards and roof rails
Xenon Headlamps inc wash

Airbags inc side and curtain
Electric Folding Mirrors
Auto Dip Rear view mirror
Auto dip side mirrors for parking
Heated side mirrors
Climate Control
Panoramic Roof
Cruise control
Parking sensors front and rear
Multifunction Steering wheel
Electrically adjustable steering wheel
Widescreen Sat Nav
Digital TV Tuner + aux inputs in rear
Electric Seats
Drivers Memory seat
Aux Heater

BMW Business Sound + 6 CD
BMW Bluetooth phone int
Factory privacy glass
ISOFIX Anchor points (a must for us)
Front bushes replaced with Poly Carb

FSH

I think that’s everything.......It’s a very nice example and an excellent family car. It gets detailed twice a year and in the few years we have owned it, we have only covered 6000 miles. (Wife works 2 miles from home)
It’s a great car but i think it’s time to get the wife something more economical :(

Any help appreciated on the price you guys think it should be up for. I was thinking anywhere between 10 - 13k

Thanks in advance

Baz

My 2005 '05 3.0D was a similar age (built 12/2004), mileage and spec and went off the Dealer forecourt within 2 days at £15.5k - that was a profit to the Dealer of £3.5k!! But it was a diesel and they are in demand. You might be lucky with a Petrol one price wise, but it will still be in the £10-11k mark as a maximum simply because it's petrol. Certainly the first question asked by the Dealer was "petrol or diesel" and there was a visible relaxing of the shoulders when I said diesel!!

At the time mine was sold - September - the book price was heading south at around £250 a month on the diesel versions.

Bazza,
Unfortunately i would concur with the comments here.
Sadly everyone wants the diesels and not the big V8s. That is precisely why I traded my 2004 48k diesel for a 2004 28K 4.8is a couple of years ago for no cost!
Depreciation is a far bigger killer than MPG - unless you do huge mileage it is a long time to breakeven! The V8s are great value
Just bought a 2007 Merc 500CLK (5.4L 388 bhp) with 34k. Cost £70k new, cost me £16k. Again no one wants the big engines.
Sounds like you have a really nice car
Good luck

just to ad i wasnt slating the car, it sounds lovely, just petrols are not realy in demand and to be honest with mpg been on most peoples mind things like the diesel x5s are becoming in less demand compared to things like 520d/320d that will do 40+mpg easily!

thats fine guys and thanks for the input.

Its such a shame all big engine cars are taking an absolute hammering. Was thinking of putting my RS6 up for sale too but just seen the prices for them......looks as if i may be keeping my big V8 but will deffinatly put the X5 up for sale within the next couple of months.

thanks guys
