Hi all,
Well what a week!
Woke up on Wednesday to find my X had gone

along with wallet/purse/laptops

! We had been burgled over night and it appears the X was the target and the other items were just a bonus!!!!!!!!
It took us an hour to realise that we had actually been burgled as there was no mess and no obvious sign of entry.
I must say the

were superb and after 36 hours my car had been located and someone arrested (although not the actual burglar).
It appears it was a 'professional team' who are well known. Car was on false plates when found.
Just waiting to get it back from the forensic people.........apparently it has no damage to it....we'll see.

Shittin' Hell mate! Really sorry to hear this!
That's crazy! My ex had her mini stolen the same way, it was only 3 months old and she was gutted when they recovered it some weeks later!
Although hers had been nailed into a curb and bent the wishbone! Inside full of fag burns and nearly a full tank of fuel totally gone! They must have taken it on a road trip and then bought it back to Wolverhampton, ran out of fuel and dumped it!!
Hopefully yours will be in the same condition u left it in!!
Does it now get a 'stolen-recovered' mark on the register (HPI check etc) or is that only if insurance pay out?
Best of luck with it!

To be honest, if someone is intent on stealing my car, I'd rather they can just find the keys and do one, rather than come upstairs where my family are asleep and take the keys anyway!

tbh, after my post i was thinkin the same. to get to the keys they're already inside the house! at that point i'd rather let them be happy soonest and sent off rather than come upstairs where i'd be with family!!
maybe i should keep em a present gift wrapped right outside the door

and they'd take it along with the car keys and go away!

Bl@@dy H3ll!! Same happened to relatives of ours. Their Merc wasn't recovered..

Wallet taken too but dumped, still with cards in it as tea leaves only want cash. Glad you and the family are OK though.
I know it's debatable, and been debated at length here too, but fit a tracker if none already in use. Mind you, your insurers may insist on one now.
Gone are the days when folks could let their kids play in the streets, front doors stayed open and everyone knew and helped everyone.
The village my outlaws live in Wales is still very like that though, and it's a breath of fresh air going over there. Here it's all sirens and Police Helicopters and the all too frequent sound of burglar alarms (most tripped accidentally though) and nicked cars being thrashed in the local industrial estate at night - now dealt with after CCTV was installed throughout the area.. A neighbour had his Scooby nicked the same way, but it was found in less than three hours in a lockup 15 miles away. Centre console slightly damaged where they'd been looking (unsuccessfully) for the tracking unit, but otherwise unharmed.

Damn. Sorry to hear that. Never a nice thought knowing scum have been in your house BUT a million times worse knowing you and the family were only upstairs.
Glad it was recovered quickly and hopefully they catch the rest of the gang involved.

Always a concern nowadays, bast@rds.
Local police reckon most thieves wouldn't bother to venture upstairs for keys, bit of a chance though.
Glad it was found quickly, hopefully unharmed but most importantly happy you and your family are ok.

I know what I'd like to do with these guys if I ever caught them in my own house,.. BUT,... it's against the law to beat the living crap out of these assholes in your house !!
As mentioned, gone are the days when kids play happily and safely in the street, .. doors could be left open all night with no intruders,... peacefull nieghborhood,... no more !
Our nursery (childrens) was broken into several months ago, 5 times in a month, guy was a moron, high on drugs, police caught him and he's admitted it but the police are reluctant to give me his name (16 year old).... wonder why ???
One day his day will come,
Jonny
