I have to replace a front drive shaft gaiter after it was spotted during the mot, just want to confirm the socket size of the main hub nut, is it 36mm, also, the torque when re-fitting.
Thanx.

It is indeed a 36mm nut and usually needs a 12 point socket . 3/4 drive will cope with the 420nm required torque . A good garage will have such a torque wrench or if you DIY you may be able to hire one from a tool hire company .

This thread may be of interest with some good pics and tricks added by other posters although the first post covers almost every option .
You should be able to persuade a garage to do the job for 1 hour labour taking into account their admin etc .

My local indie has said about 1.5 hours, but if I get the time, and the weather permits, then I will do it myself before the car goes to the garage for it's bi-annual brake fluid change next week, if not then they can do it whilst the car is there.
Thanx for confirming the size.
