I'm unable to find any information regarding tyres for my X5 E53, now this must have been covered many times before. But the iPhone and the forum search are bringing nothing up.

I'm in need of tyres, and going to replace all 4 mid may.

If there are any threads on this a link would be great.

If not I have a few from googling, my tyre size.

Sport wheels staggered.

Any thoughts on these

Continental cross contact
Vredestein ultra
Michelin diamaris
Toyo proxes

Cheers

Have a word with Raj he was selling a full set of wheels and tyres not long ago, and I know all the tyres were new.

Yeah I remember think they were 20" X6 about £1300.

Cheers but don't want 20"'s

Scooby depends on your budget of course, but those using 19" Sport Wheels often recommend Toyo Proxes - I considered them myself before buying Vredestein Sessantas for my 4.8is (20" version). The Toyos seem to be good value compared to ridiculously priced Michelin Diamaris.

I still think you should consider the 20" option from Raj, I know the fronts are michelins and the rears are toyos.

Ride will be harsh and crashy, may not be much worse than 19's, and then I don't want to spend that much. I no they come with wheels, and could sell mine to make to lower the cost.
Cheers for the heads up but there not for me.

Hi buddy. You'll find the ride not to be much different at all tbh. The X6 rims are virtually mint and as said the tyres are pretty much brand new too. You can offset some of the cost with selling your originals and may only cost you what our looking at for just tyres anyway.

As for tyres though, for the price you really can't go wrong with Toyo's. They are a very good tyre and perform well in both wet and dry conditions.

Hi mate

If I could get £500 for mine then I would look into it more, but with needing 3 new tyres on mine I very much doubt I would get £250. I don't want to spend much more than £750 on tyres TBH.

But if you want to to a swop deal, I could through in £795.

I have Diamaris all round, great summer tyre and cope with miles fairly well but as said by other Toyo Proxes ST1 worth a look.

General Grabber UHP worth a look too especially if not able to justify separate winter set as they will cope better with light sand/mud snow than most all season offerings. Not had same myself but have read positive reviews before re these which come in cheaper than Diamaris.

Vred's seem well respected though prices have rised in recent years making them less good value than they once were. Some say they dont last long compare to some other offerings due to soft compound but they do have a visually appealing tread pattern.......I stop short of using the word attractive to describe car parts/tyres ;)

Mine are on 20's and so far so good - in fact, brilliant.

Jeegnesh is on almost 25k on his (I think). And only the front are worn on the outer edges. Still has another approx 5k on the rears.

Just make sure you get a 4 wheel laser alignment done after picking them up.

My vredie Sessantas are 20s ride quality excellent and wear is no worse than the diamaris or bridgestones that were fitted . Worth checking out, I use vred wintracs in winter and love them. The sessantas have an unusual rather nice looking tread pattern as aw8 says.....but they are relatively pricey now.
