Could you post up a link of the scanner you bought? What year x5 do you have?

I would be interested in buying a scanner if it will work on my 2005 3.0d x5

Cheers

Tim

mcc05 - i might have a follow up question if i get stuck ( unless ive asked enough already)

I will start pouring some knowlege back in to the forums soon.

like sustaining a rain forest. for every question i ask, i will answer 2 for someone else hahahaaa

Looking at the screengrabs from the software im hoping the coding will use the tick box option rather than the hex F01khkfhk numbery thing :|

Yep getting most of the extra bits working like the parking heater are just tick box options :)

Oooh hi, me again

Ive got my scanner, and done some coding*

Ive enabled Aux heating and no its shows on the sat nav display

however, it doesnt seem to work....

I set the timer, the RED fan icon lights up continuosly

when the time comes, the RED fan icon just flashes...

No sounds from the webasto or fans?

anyone?

* if anyone wants key coding, tv unlocking, fault codes read, male say nav voice, etc - ive mastered those...

Hi I am looking to do this mod too. Did you buy the abover scanner or did you go down the INPA route? I dont have sat nav fitted just the old MID, does the same principle apply for enabling this and will it function as expected with the MID instead of screen.

Off topic sorry but does BMW scanner 1.40 reinitalise the rain sensor?

Thanks

yes i used the scanner, pretty simple to be fair.
I have the MID so i'm not familiar with that set up, but im sure it will work either way

the scanner can enable lots and you can really personalise your car.

so far i have
enabled aux heating
activated the tv whilst moving
changed the blutooth name
enables selective locking
enabled comfort opening
enabled audable and visual alarm settings
and all sorts of shizz

Maybe I could set up a loan service for my scanner?

Sounds the ticket mate. Can I ask a favour, could you check if it initializes the rain sensor. If I does I will order one if not I will have to go with inpa. If you could confirm this it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
