Parking heater remote start- Enabling

Post by X5Sport » Sun Jul 23, 2023 8:02 pm

The part number that you need is 64128381207 (the last made for the E53) as that replaced 64128380998. They were fitted from 2000 up to 09/2008. The number is from RealOEM (Copy of BMW Parts database). Unfortunately BMW went from a DVD based parts system over to an online dealer subscription based system in Dec 2019.

You might be better getting yours serviced as many on cars now have igniter problems so won’t run. Should be plenty about on the bay given the age of these cars now and many reaching end of life.

Parking heater remote start- Enabling

Thanks. Yes I know the part number of mine acoording to RealOEM as I do have RealOEM too. The problem is that most X5 Webastos do not show the same RealOEM part number but most show BMW 64.12-6918942, and they have the number in variations of that eg 6918942 or 6918942-02 or 6918942-03 (mine) or 6918941. Some do show 8380998 (which is indeed on RealOEM for my car and superceded by 8381207) and a Webasto number 92794D but they come with a strange fuel cooling accessory and I guess this is the special heater for a petrol X5 not the same as on my 2006 3.0D X5 Sport. The 8380998 generally has a Webasto date range on it of 2002-2004. This is my second 2006 3.0d X5 Sport and neither looked like this one and both had the same appearance as each other. The Webasto own number beneath the BMW number varies also eg 9003552A, 9003552B (mine), 92794D (mentioned earlier) etc.. So I could search for an exact replica of mine assuming mine is the original and not replaced by a previous owner, however what I would really like to know is the number markings (BMW and Webasto) on a heater that has proven to actually work for remote cabin heating....

Understood. From memory any that fitted the E53 should work as the only difference was a Telestart T80/90 module that plugged into a slot in the boot. It was the receiver/controller. No wiring or coding changes.

Thanks. However it seems to me that some people have reported that theirs doesn't work and some people said theirs does work and some people say you need 2 valves type underneath rather than 1 valve, and that the unattached connector next to the 2 valves underneath the webasto needs a 3rd valve (going where??) or a resistor simulating a 3rd valve needs to be put onto that connector....after 39 pages it is easy to see what needs to be tried to see if you can get it to do remote cabin heat work but no indication of which Webasto models simply will not do this.....
