GET IN!!!!!

Used NCS Expert and BMW Decoder to get my current SA and the SA I needed to get rid of SA536

Changed the SA on the car, then coded it to the EWS, KMBI and IHKA

I now have no aux heat on the on-board monitor

i now have a webasto that works by remote!!!!!

Just waiting to see if the fans turn on when the water is up to heat.

SA is part of the vehicle order - which tells the car what options are fitted.
EWS, KMBI are where my vehicle order is stored on the car (assuming KMBI is the same as KOMBI which was on the printout from BMW)
IHKA is the climate control module that was reporting the error (missing parts)

you're right.  We had a light covering of snow for 2 days - now its all gone :(  The missus thinks its a waste of time and money and not needed - so I told her she wont be getting the remote to turn it on any day she needs it and I don't  :))

mine came on this morning even though it was quite mild? Thought it had to be fairly cold for it to start up?

switched on manually from the obc / remote or switched on automatically during a cold start?

former happens regardless of temperature and then it goes back to sleep if the temp is like over 13c. latter doesn't happen unless outside temp is 5c or less.

So.... a little scenario.......

7:25am  Turn on webasto via remote latch for 30 mins (12v power)
7:40am  Drive to work (Outside temperature below 5 degrees) so K-Bus would normally send signal to start webasto.
7:50am  Park up and switch off at work.  (still 5 mins left of remote latch)

Who's in charge of the webasto, K-Bus or 12v.

I'd imagine a telestart module would kill the 12v when K-bus or the car was started?

So do you -
Leave it running on 12v when you start the car, or switch it off.
Switching off 12v would result in cool down, but the conditions would be suitable for k-bus to say to start up

I would think a maplin type remote supplying 12v to pin 1 should bypass/override k bus signal. I fitted an on/off toggle switch to my maplin remote to ensure no false starts when not required and to let me switch off after starting car and let it run normally under k bus control. :)

telestart module has no knowledge to kill +12v when u start the car, but the webo is designed to monitor engine on/off and kill webo if engine starts.

i have done these scenarios:
outside temp > 5c; webo started with telestart; get into car and start a short journey; stop the car whilst still within the telestart timer (ie timer still on).
outcome: moment the car starts the webo stops (normal fan operation starts, webo fuel pump could be heard to go quiet so i knew webo stopped). moment car stopped, webo started again (normal fan operation stopped, webo start-up sequence was heard again)

outside temp > 5c; webo started with telestart; get into car and go on a longer journey (ie, telestart timer stops +12v whilst on journey)
outcome: same as above; but webo didn't start again when the car stopped.

so basically 'engine on' is a condition that the webo checks when on telestar/+12v method and shuts down.

i haven't tried when outside temp < 5c; i presume the webo will run while the engine runs.
