Having already taken delivery of a Blaupunkt THA 275 and associated pnp cables, yesterday the BMW Hi Fi tweeters arrived so I am now set for the install.
Door cards...have TIS....check
Amp..........location in rear opposite to CD changer....check
Quadlock on radio module....know roughly where it is but could do with a bit more clarity from "dgm". What colour is the quad lock in the car......check
Acceptable sound......probably at the weekend....check.

Denis, look at the image posted by Sanj in the below thread. The radio module is directly in front of the battery on the left side. It's the silver box. You'll see on the image the wires going into the top of it. They're attached to the radio module via the quadlock which will look exactly like the connection on the amp cables you've got. It will become obvious when you strip it down. It's black in colour I think.

I'm sure it'll be clear when I get in there but I want your cast iron assurance that you will be sitting by your computer ready for any stupid question I may ask on the day of install
oh and Sanj as well
Cyber beers will be provided all day

I can't promise as I anticipate drinking actual beer as opposed to the cyber variety but I'll keep a look out for your posts. Here's the only photo I can assist with showing the amp in the right hand cubby. It's stuck to the lining with vecro and hasn't budged since install

This might also help:
Go to the quadlock on the BM54 and look for these:
Rear Left
+Yellow w/ Violet Stripe
- Yellow w/ Grey Stripe
Rear Right
+ Blue w/ Violet Stripe
- Blue w/ Grey Stripe
Splice these to get yourspeaker feed to the amp.
Remote is the purple w/ White stripe.
And when are you looking to do this?

It's the plug and play amp Sanj, no splicing required.

Does the other end of the wires not need to be spliced into the quadlock?

No, it's just a case of plugging the amp cable quadlock into the radio module and the other end hooks up with the car quadlock. It's powering the front speakers only.

Nice one! Won't need me then!
How did you know about this amp then?

I found a thread about them on an E90 forum when I was looking for ways to improve my stock system for reasonable money. They've been about for a while and are starting to become well priced if you buy from Germany. For the amp and cables it cost me about £150. This isn't going to give you top end sound but it's a massive improvement, I'm delighted with mine.
I take it you went the same route for the amp Denis?

Exactly the same route as you "dgm". FFS sign your name. At least I can direct comments to a person
Your instruction above has given a little more clarity i.e. the new pnp wiring loom fits onto the BM54 and the quad lock it replaces is then plugged back into the wiring loom.
Thanks also for the picture.
When I had my e61 done with a THA 555 one end of the loom was connected at the back of the Sat Nav and that was then connected to the loom. Sounds like the same deal albeit this is all done in the boot rather than behind the HU. Much easier
Looks like Saturday is now a BBQ day so no ICE fitting going on. Will wait till next week now.

Sorry Denis, didn't mean to be mysterious. It's David. I hope you're pleased with the set up, I feel under pressure now as I've recommended it.

So do I take it that this mod is an easy instal to improve front sound from a standard E53 setup, or any E53 setup?

I think it will only be plug and play with the standard set up, perhaps the hifi speakers but definitely not the DSP.
It's an easy upgrade, access the radio module and the biggest problem you'll have is squeezing the OEM quadlock somewhere out of the way. I would say the tweeters are a must though as they make all the difference.

Had a couple of hours this afternoon so thought I'd make a start. Got everything out the way and immediately came upon my first problem.
There are 3 quadlocks going into the BM54.
From left to right Blue, Black and White. Which one do I use or is it all of them and where do they go. I'm guessing into 1 of the black plugs on the pnp loom shown below
To the left is the 2.5 metre exstension lead which obviously connects via the 2 brown and 1 white plug, At the other end of the extension are the 4 plugs that go into the amp. I'll be asking questions on those later no doubt.
There's also a couple of other cables. In 2nd photo there's the yellow wire going to a white plug. Where does that go. Maybe they're not all used.
I'm assuming I'm not trying to connect to the 2 bigger plugs that sit alongside the silver box in this next picture?
More questions later but it's all back together now.
