4.4i sport exhaust

Does anyone make an off the shelf exhaust for a 4.4i e53. I fancy something that has tailpipes similer to the m3 and m5 as i think the tailpipes on the 4.4i are a bit subdued, but i dont want a 4.6is tailpipe.
My other requirement would be something not much louder than standard as it is still the family wagon

I think Remus exhausts do a performance exhaust upgrade that is a twin each side like the stock one but obviously in stainless steel & a more visual effect giving a deep note but not too loud.

You could always try getting one made to measure there are one or two companies that do this, i always prefered the twin each side on the 4.4 instead of the chrome surround on my 4.8is.

I like the twin each side on the 4.4i i just want it to be a bit more visible, I will check out remus and see what they do.

Give Longlife a ring there is a branch in Stockport
They fitted the exhaust on my car and have done a few other forum members cars and are very good
You can then have the exhaust exactly how you want it and they also can make it as loud or quiet as you want

Dont forget to mention the forum and haggle with them most people on here have paid about £300 so worth a try.

Cheers for the info on longlife. Will have to give them a look. Looked at remus exhausts and they are about 700 quid for the back boxes.

700 quid is very pricey, i didnt realise they would be that much, i have spent less on a full stainless system on other cars in the past, thats beemer ownership for you!

Tell me about it, i was glad i was sat at the pc when i read it otherwise i would have fallen over with the shock. but then the last stainless system i bought was a 2nd hand scorpion for my old e36 for 25 quid off ebay.
