Does anyone know if the pollen filter on the X5 (2003) is an activated charcoal unit, or just a normal filter.

Think activated charcoal one will remove nasty smells in the air too

Go on, how scary is it price wise OEM.....or is it something you can get non-genuine for a better figure?

Not too scary actually, 36 quid, didn't think that was too bad, and as I said in the other thread, filters are one thing that I like to buy genuine, especially if you are keeping everything standard, ( as I know there are better aftermarket performance air filters out there ).
I have just sent a filter back to eurocarparts, totally different spec to the one I ordered, not for the Beemer by the way.

ECP usually offer a premium and budget choice. The premium is often charcoal, worth asking when you order as the sales guys are able to see on the notes.
