Welcome and nice choice of car.  :drive:

I am sure you can get tools to remove locking wheel nuts so it shouldnt be a prob even you local garage may be able to help

If the wheel nut key is the OEM one then your local BMW Dealer will have a master set and they can get a replacement for you.  About £25 each I think.  There is a code stamped/cast into it so make a note of the number in case you......mislay.......another one.

I called the local dealer and they said the same , will call in as soon as the gearbox has been rebuilt as it blew up on the mrs on wednesday morning the first 3 weeks of x5 ownership have proved to be quite costly! :fuelfire:

Oh shoot!!  Any warranty cover?  I wonder if the previous owner knew or suspected and dumped it quick.  Really sorry to read this.  It's getting to be a more frequent occurrence reported on here as these cars age.

I'm beginning to think that the Buyers Guide on here should say - get a BMW fault code read done before you ever buy one of these X5s.  It's becoming as necessary as an HPI check!

Can you tell us a bit about the car, what sort of mileage, service history etc.
Please tell us you're not getting it done via the dealers, unless you've got a warranty of course.
