As I am struggling a bit to find the perfect 4.8is, my thoughts are moving to a fully loaded oil burner and potentially remap it to get a compromise
I noticed the le mans edition have wider arches to incorporated the 20 inch wheels. Are these the same factory fit ones that come on the 4.8is? Presumably then you would just need front and rear bumpers from somewhere like M style?
Also, do body mods like bumpers/arches invalidate the BMW AUC warranty?

The arches are 90% the same, the small piece or arch on the rear bumper is marginally different, however I fitted the 4.8is kit without changing these

great.
thanks for the reply Shadrack. Where did you get your kit from? Did you fit yourself? Any piccies?
also are the wheels spaced? i know some are putting wheel spacers when they aftermarket go to 20s, but is this the case from the factory?

Re: Are the arches on a le mans edition the same as 4.8is?
The kit on my car came from latvia, the wheels if using oem 20s (4.6\4.
wheels these don't need spacers however you can space them 20mm, I currently have 40mm spacers in the rear but I'm running 22s that arnt realy in the right offset for having arch extensions, I probly would have got away with it on a standard arch car but I should have got wider rears realy but they are very expensive in 22, I will take a few piccies for you unless someone beats me to it, also somewhere on here is the pictures of when I put on my kit etc, I have everthing 4.8is including exhaust on my oil burner and tbh looks pretty good and normally atracts possitive comments!

There is a very nice 4.8is for sale in the "for sale" forum here...

There is a thread running about fitting the arches but you in my opinion need the 4.8is rear bumper arches as the standard ones don't line up with the rear spoiler
this is the standard arches with the spoiler fitted
and with the "is"arches fitted it looks far better as it lines up at the bottom

Good info, thankyou
The arches definitely make a difference and I can see why the original 4.8 ones are preferable - thanks for those pics. Although how much I would notice day to day I don't know.
Funny how the day I decide to compromise and go for oil, cannondale advertises his carbon black..........might have to check it out
