Guys, i see lots of talk about installing LED's, but do these have a like for like fitting, or do you need to modify the fitting/power supplied to the light unit?

Just watched a vid on how to replace the angel eye bulbs for LED'S and was expecting round/halo shape bulbs :-[ but they are just normal bulb shape. Can anyone point me in the right direction on ebay/online/store for led angel eye units, are they all the same wattage?
Cheers,

Currently in process of going led.lol. Done number plate lights, ordered angel eyes and puddle lights. all on ebay. i think the most important thing is that they are canbus so that you dont get any warnings on dash

Puddle lights are W5W T10 501 LEDs
Number plate lights are 39mm festoon LED
Angel eyes are BMW Angel Eyes Marker Bulbs - Xenon HeadLight LED
All the above have worked fine for me. Remember they need to be canbus (error free)

Hi probably a stupid question, but I have just ordered some LED marker lights from Hids Direct, as in Raj's link. Are these all I need to convert my headlights to white coloured lights,or do I need additional bulbs etc.
Thanks in advance

Do you mean your Angel eyes, or do you mean 'headlights'? If just Angel Eyes, then yes that is all you need.
Straight 'plug & play'.....

I want to change my side lights, head lights and main beam, as I find the original OEM headlights a bit dim !
and prefer the white light effect. or maybe its me thats dim !!!
I'm going to try the LED markers first, if I like them I would want to change the rest.
Any links or advise would be most welcome.
Thanks

I take it you don't have HID (Xenons) then?
If you don't then you need HID kits........one kit per pair of lights. They're arc lights (High Intensity Discharge) so need very high voltage 'ballasts' to start them.....part of the reason for the extra costs.
Example kits here......
HIDS4U but other suppliers out there.
The blue tinted filament bulbs don't really do the job, which is why HIDs are the system you need.
There are a fair few on here who have done it, and it's a pretty straightforward job.

Hi Richard, I am pretty sure I have xenons, as they dip and then level when I switch them on. I am disappointed with the dipped beam when driving on country roads,so thought I would look at upgrading them if possible ....I have just nipped out and turned on the headlights, both the dipped and main beam are a whitish light.
The 2 rings are yellow, so hopefully the marker lights should sort them when they arrive from Hids direct.
thanks for the help, I should look before I leap.
Cheers Pete

Xenon's have something like 'BMW Xenon' embossed on the dipped beam and they will take a few seconds to 'brighten' up. They are a very blue/white light and will make the main beam look 'yellowish'. If there's a 'flash' from the dip beam at cold switch on, and you also have High Voltage warning stickers on the front panel then you do have Xenon. If not, then standard filament.
Also, if you have self-levelling suspension then I think the lights should so their up-down waggle automatically and there's no manual adjuster on the light panel.
