After layng the beast up due to Gearbox failure....( again!!)

Gearbox stripped.
Valve Body overhauled and tested - New AFL valve Fitted

Oil pump / bell housing sent off, machined, refitted, removed, measured (out of tolerance
significantly), sent off, scrapped, replacement supplied, rebuilt, tried to fit to car (wrong bellhousing - its for a petrol!!) tried to get diesel bellhousing, failed........
So modified petrol one to fit - Added spacer plate to take up longitudinal differences and also to twist approx 10degrees.. (had to remount starter motor a tad also...)

Took opportunity of fitting paddle shift upgrade...

Rear hub rose bush and top arm replaced on both sides - excessive wear and wobble..  Had to cut hand brake cables as couldn't get them out.
Took 3 hours to remove each bush, breaking vice in the process.... :(

Stripped & rebuilt handbrake assembly as all had rusted on due to standing for so long..

Sorted long running issue of front PDC interferance from Angel eyes.
Fitted new amps and a few tweeks to circuitry (IBus controlled relay to turn them on, self dimming DRL controllers for LED Rings around the Fog lights (photo to follow)

Sent for MOT  which it promptly failed...
Only failed on Handbrake adjustment (it wouldn't hold as it all settled out) and front tires worn.

Sorted them and car is in garage for 4 wheel alignment (getting rears set to as close to -0.5deg as poss to sort out wear problem on tires)

So should have it back on the road tomorrow when i can get the road tax sorted...

This had better last longer than the last time.....

All I need now is to polish it ready for my daughters wedding....

You definitely get a medal from me for writing so much, let alone doing the bloody work !  :no1:

I'm afraid I would have packed it in and paid a garage to do it but I'm impressed you persevered with it.

Hope it looks good for your daughters wedding

Wow. That is some seriously impressive stuff. Not sure I would have persevered as you have.. Well done though and I'm sure it will look superb for your daughters wedding.

As for the alignment, surprised as I finally fitted my K-MAC camber bushes and got an alignment done at a place I know for £25. Rears fully back in spec.

As i left the the car and went to work i don't know what they couldn't do
Going to pop in on my way home on friday to ask the questions and see where i am.

gives me time to figure out what has happened to the front right channel though..

Also forgot on the list...
Fixed Dash & MID Pixels.  Only 2 columns out on the MID which doesn't seem to affect anything so may leave it like that...

Medal from me too!
That's a big 'ol list.

PDC interference from the Angel Eyes was a new one. Not heard that before.  :'(

Aftermarket Angel Eyes..

CCFL type.
The invertors were playing havoc due to being supplied by a PWM signal from the front side lights supply.
