I'm out !!
I'm out !!
I did really enjoy owning my X5, even for only under a year,...but I sold it yesterday !!! Business wasn't good, Xmas coming up and the wife wanting a smaller car to learn to drive in .
I'd like to say thanks to all who chipped in with the help over the months,..this is the kind of forum that makes owning an X5 that much easier to understand and try some DIY.
Id thank you personally and name individuals but if I missed someone out there would be hell to pay !
I wish you all continued enjoyment of this site and driving your cherished X5's. Sad to see it drive off into the distance but hey-ho, life goes on.
Regards to you all,...
Jonny

Re: I'm out !!
I'll still look in now and again,....learned a lot from you guys as well as gaining experience from tackling things for myself. Don't laugh,......but I bought the wife a wee Citroen C3 XTR sensodrive yesterday !!
Drove it myself to bring it home and could have cried all the way back thinking what I'd given up.
I'm sure we all know how tough things are getting, and I'm a landscape gardener and work has just dried up recently so hence the down-grade.
Highlight was it gave me 51 mpg on a run to Carlisle today !!
Cheers all,
Jonny

Once driven, Forever smitten........
Having driven BMWs now for 8 years I know it would be very hard to have to give mine up......I'm just hoping I won't have too, but things are looking less certain as every week passes.

Sorry about selling your X but as you say needs must, but good news of 51 mpg ain't bad and at that rate you'll have saved enough to get a new X5.
Anyhow thats a lot better than my 4.4 at 20.4mpg at the weekend that why I drive a smart Monday to Friday to offset the weekend cost.
