Ok, So this seems abit gimmicky...and I love gimmicks!! I've tried googling to see how it performs and see if its worth waiting for a car with that spec included but I can't find any?! could some kind folk video theirs and how it works fully extending and retracting please? (unless you's know of a video?)
Also, what are these like on reliability? I'd hate to get one and then go to use it and the motor that runs it dies and requires the passing of hundreds and hundreds for a new one?!..
Regards
Aaron

On an E53?
The moving boot floor wasn't powered in 2005 anyway. Moved by human energy only.

Yeah on a e53
I always thought it was motorised - so do you literally just grab and pull?

On mine yes. There was a handle to lift that latched it closed and allowed it to be pulled/pushed, but otherwise it's just a heavy plank of wood/mdf/chipboard or similar, covered in cloth trim etc, two round rails and a set of wheels on which the floor runs. You can also lift it to get at the spare etc.
Don't get me wrong, it's very useful for loading heavier items into the boot and then just pushing the floor back in with its cargo on. I wish the newer models had it too as I would have had it in the X6, but that has a 'lip' being a hatchback and so the load floor option would not work. I don't think it's even offered for the E70 either now......
It looks like it's made up of a kit for
the floor and if you're buying a second hand one that needs parts,
these are they.....

How bizarre (for me) this thread should start the day i fit a pull out boot floor in my E53.
As Richards` post these are not motorised and it`s function is exactly as Richard described. Not difficult to fit either thats if you can source one. It took me roughly an 1hr 30 mins to fit.
BMW did a retrofit kit but not sure of price or availability , i`ll try and dig out the retrofit kit part number. I did take a few pics fitting this to my car today and will put together a detailed how to soon .
Just remembered, i`ve got another how to in my notepad to finish. .
