Is this a good idea?  Obvioulsy tyres will be dearer, and the ride slightly harsher.  Questions is......  will the ride be hugely noticabley different?

Have many here changed from the 19" snowflake to maybe the 168M style?  There the ones i've got my eye on.

If anyone has pic of the before/after wheel change, that'd be appreciated.

Looks and style are the reason for changing.  If its what you want then it is a good idea. And like anything you really want, you will accept the slight difference in ride quality.

How much does a set of 168s cost? I would love them on mine  :)

I had the 168 style (4.8is) on my last E53. They were and still are a great looking wheel. The only thing I would say is that when selecting 20''ers from the factory, the car comes with arch extensions that are needed to accommodate the extra width.  Without these extensions the wheels can look over sized and detract from the cars handsome goods looks.

I have 20s on mine - Not sure what style number is? Wide arch extensions are not required as wheel is still within the existing width.

Plenty of photos here - http://xdrivers.co.uk/forum/https://xdr ... ic.php?t=1

They are the 20s I want!  :-)  Is there a significant difference in the comfort of ride compared to the 19s?

Sorry but never had the 19s, these were on mine when purchased. Ride is fine, sidewalls are fairly deep for profile due to width % calculation. 275/40 front and 315/35 rear. 110mm sidewall - what are the 19 sizes?
