Variable Speed Cams

Post by jaynana » Fri Jan 11, 2013 9:20 am

on the M25, M1

do they actually work?

yesterday on the m1 some were displaying 40mph and traffic was flowing 60mph+ !! if i slowed down to 40 i'd have surely caused a crash!!

plus they're every few hundred yards!!

Variable Speed Cams

Post by snipez999 » Fri Jan 11, 2013 10:28 am

I had same predicament when down there the other week. Some are loaded with speed cams and white marker lines  so I did the old spurt and slam on technique to get other motorists off my arris. They were undertaking me at a good 70 when I was doing 40 so eventually I got fed up.

As Snipez says only a few gantries actually have cameras on the back of them. I wouldn't worry too much I don't generally slow down for all of them and touch wood nothings ever come through  :))
