2002 4.6is with electric rear seats.

Parcel shelf was missing when I bought it.  I got one off Ebay:

but it's the wrong one so it will be going back on there (anyone after one?).  Mine looks like it should probably be one of these number 02s from realoem:

The one I have bought looks more like #15.

Are these four all different or are they just different manufacturers of the same part?  Is the parcel shelf different with electric rear seats?

Item 15 is for the Facelifted version onwards so as you suspect you need the no2 type - the up to 08/2003 production.  The differences are the colour only.  What colour is you interior?  Black/beige/grey/pale green I think are the four there.

I had electric seats on my facelifted E53 and the cover was still item 15.....it just left a gap if the seats were forward and the cover had a flexible front section which moved out of the way if the seats were back further.

Ahh, of course I should have realised that.  My interior is "schwarz"  . I'm not about to buy one from a main dealer though, so will continue my search for a 2nd hand cheap one.

I'm reluctant to buy that one because it looks like the clips he's talking about are not listed separately, unless anyone knows different?

Anyone want one for a facelift E53 before I bother relisting it on Ebay?

That certainly looks like the pre-facelift version.  The facelift one fully retracts....as you now know.

No idea about the clips though.  Could it be Item 5 on the same diagram?  That is apparently a 'hook, rear left' (and again for a RHS one.

Yes, the concertina type is pre facelift and the roller blind type is post facelift.

My 2003 has the concertina type - that one you linked to on eBay spread over the bonnet looks a bit tatty to me.
Ask him if the bars are straight.
Also do you have the cassette parts still on you car? (Part 14 on the microfiche) - The ebay seller looks like he's not selling these and you need them to fit it.

The part he claims is broken or missing is a rod with a plastic square shaped piece at each end (part 4 on the microfiche). The square shaped ends locate in the trim in the sides of the car so that the load cover stays supported and extended. Without this it hangs and flaps about.

Looking at the parts microfiche - you'll have to buy the whole bar - part 4.

Is anyone able to say for sure whether or not the parcel shelf is the same on models with the electric rear seats?

Here's a pic of the mounting for my missing shelf.  Does this look the same as a pre-facelift one without the electric rear seats?

That looks one off 9/2002. X5 3.0d I had,No 15 is on my 10/2003 4.4 I non concertina type much better.
