Fifth Gear - New series now started

Post by MJim » Tue Feb 12, 2013 12:36 pm

Just watched the first episode of season 22.  It goes out on Discovery UK channel Monday evenings - I just watched it on YouTube as I don't have Sky.  Very good review of Boxster S and Audi S8 - can you believe the S8 beats the R8 in a straight line dash!??  Enjoy the mix of Tom foolery and genuine race driver knowledge / expertise so looking forward to the rest of the series ...

Have they found a way to shut VBH's braying up yet?  It is slightly better than Top Gear though.

I'm a massive fan of top gear but its getting a little so so it needs a makeover.

I caught the end, with the boxster. I hadn't watched one for so long I didn't even know it was the new series!

I actually prefer the excitable presenting style of VBH to the somewhat boring delivery of most male presenters - and let's be honest she's a faster driver than any of us!

Thanks MJim, I hadn't spotted it was back.

For anyone with Discovery HD, it's repeated on Fri and Sat at 7pm

I know the one you mean, and I've never known his name. 3 talented race drivers present but not a clue what that 4th bloke is doing on the show ...

Just seen this episode. In the first part they race cars round a track against a jet fighter, just the same as Top Gear did in the past. Very disappointing to see that Fifth Gear becoming just another car-based entertainment show. I preferred it when it was more informative  :sad1:
