Full tank of fuel, how many miles.........

Right well lets forget about the MPG at this stage and just put down how many miles you get to a tank of fuel.

Every time i fill up i always reset the milage counter just to see how good or heavy footed a  driver i have been.

I never do any odd £10 or £40 hear and there, i drive my X5 D until i need to refuel and then fill it to the top.

I get about £125 of diesel in my tank and then go about my work, ranging mainly around town on short trips to a bit of duel carriageway battering.

On average i am getting between 400 and 450 miles to a full tank of fuel. (good or bad ? i don't know as your the only people i know with our much loved X5's)

So what are you getting per tank full of fuel ?

And how much does it cost you to fill up in your areas ?

Diesel and petrol owners.........................

I do a regular 600 mile round trip on motorway (70mph) and always get home just as yellow fuel light comes on. I got 700 miles to yellow light once when I drove particularly slow!
Around town/mixed driving I get about 500 miles to a full tank.

I used to get just over 540 miles out of mine on mixed driving - 2005 3.0D Sport.  I get close to the same out of the X6 but on 10litres less fuel.

For the usual everyday driving I get 850/900 kms , but on a run back to Blighty at
constant motorway speeds can get up to 1200 kms .

If I'm really gentle with the right foot (booooring!) I can get close to 750 miles out of 90 litres of diesel on the long boring motorway runs. Drops to 600 for normal driving around town and about 450 when towing the caravan. Ours has been remapped tho so getting v good economy but regular washing of the back bumper required if I boot it!

Regards
Gareth

Facelift 4.4, 320-450 miles for ~ £110. 320 = mainly town / country, 450 = long drive to Scotland.

I don't run mine empty (fill up at Asda and their pumps are unmanned so I can only put £99 in at a time) but do far too much town driving. Last 2 fills on this screenshot had some A road runs so much better (if you can call 20mpg better). I never bought the car for economy and only record out of interest.

3.0D sport - 783 miles and then filled up as it showed 19 miles range left (almost exclusively motorway driving and being 'economical' with it. Full tank of fuel lus driver and one passenger

That's circa 40mpg
