Dont think it was that. This was like a lead that plugs into wiring loom behind the obc?

Not sure but I know BM do tend to offer an iPod kit (for most models but can't remember if its only iDrive equipped cars..hmmm) and its normally in place of the interchanger.

BMW offered a kit for the E53 that used the Aux port on the back of the Nav head unit (16:9 version) but it only connected via the headphone socket and gave no control options.  Integrated systems came as Raj said with the iDrive cars.

If there is an aux port at the back all you would need is this:

or

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/autoleads-pc7-235.html

Although because I do not have the sat nav I am unsure what connections are behind it.

In my old Alfa, I disconnected the RCA leads that ran to the cd changer and connected it to this wire, i then re-routed the wire to the front of the car which gave audio playback from ipod/phone or anything else with a phono connection, although I had to keep a cd in the changer to fool it into thinking i was playing the same cd over and over.

However it is limited as stated as you cannot control through stereo and it does not charge etc.

Edit: If there are no connections behind the unit itself have a look at the connection going into the multi changer as you may be able to wire it from there, although if your prepared for that amount of effore you should definately consider and intravee.

fits onto the wiring loom behind the nav head unit.

i've got this and the intravee both.

personally i'd forget about this and go for an intravee.

What jaynana has linked to is what you are referring to - 4-pin in the loom behind headunit. It's rubbish.

Or Dension also do a unit similar to Intravee , but I don't think it opens as many possibilities .

I hope Dension's Support has improved because it was absolutely dreadful when based in Eastern Europe.

The Intravee will become a VERY rare beast soon - RichardP is doing a sterling job to keep it going but we lost the man behind the product a while back. This is a superb product with added features so well worth a look at.

I had a Dension and I must admit, it was poor, but things may have improved on the product and aftersales service sides.

What can I use to integrate the iPod on my E92? I have the CCC IDrive with 6 disc changer as well as the single disc up front.

I am watching a 500 on the bay as I figured that it is the only way.

I trust you have seen the pics now Sanj?
I will of course take some more once I have spent a bit of time cleaning it properly and giving the paint a good going over.  It hasn't been loved much up till now.
