Hope you are ok.
Early advice - In abscence of knowing facts perhaps be careful what you type if there are potential legal or claim implications
Am I slightly paarnoid at times ? ................ Yes probably, (albeit based on negative experiences - whether my own or others).

Not good. Hope you, and any passengers are OK and that the damage is not serious.
........and I second the comments about being a little circumspect about any comments you write in case they affect litigation or insurers decisions. Board reader bots can trawl for specific phrases!!

Fingers crossed you and family all OK if they were in the car.
If it's your fault - I'll kill you!
If you pranged the X - I'll kill you!
Seriously, only concerned that you're OK (plus passengers). The rest is just metal (albeit, expensive one)....

Well then what is it man? or do we have to wait for another 50 page thread to find out

have you followed through or is it more serious than that!!!!
If it's the latter than forgive me fella

but due to lack of response after all these heart felt messages i'm guessing that this is a wind up.If it isn't then i'll get me coat

Nah, not a joke sorry to say, and thanks for all the well wishes and every one is ok but lucky not in the X, it was in my van and thats ok too
Well this is what happened, it was peak time traffic, and was in traffic, the lights were red and i must of been the 5/6 vehicle back when i rolled into the car in front, i did not accelerate into it, i guess i just was not pressing the brake as hard as i should have been. So rolled about half a meter into the car in front, stopped immediately and got out, as did the two occupants of the vehicle in front, who were very aggressive, there was clearly no damage to my van or the other car, i suggested to clam down, and that we pull off the main road to exchange details.
We then both pulled around the corner i then again got out as the two from the other car got out they were both holding there neck, (my immediate thoughts were here we go) so i suggested that if they were injured that the police and ambulance be called, they continued to be aggressive and said that they would report me for a hit and run unless i gave them my details, i smelt a rat, they are welcome to report me and that i would contact the police myself. They called 999, mean while i was trying to google the phone number for the local police station as i though it was not an emergency, but then again got verbal abuse from the driver, so decided to call 999. As i was talking to the police, the passenger returns to me and said the police would like to talk to me, I asked the police on my phone what I should do, he said that I should take the call, and that he would stay on the line. I took the phone and the lady asked if I could explain the situation as I did, she then went on to tell me that the other party had asked for a ambulance and police attendance, but after some questioning from her was told that they didn’t need it, and that there was no damage and everyone was ok. I then asked as I was still not happy with the situation what details I had to give legally, I was told that I only had to give my name address and contact number, I then went on to ask for her details, upon which I was given a reference number, which I read out aloud. At this point the passenger starts banging on my window, I finished with the police on his phone so handed it back to him, and returned to my phone, the officer said that he had heard the reference number that I said out aloud and he had bought up the information on his screen and he confirmed what the other officer had told me and added that I should take some pic’s, and to call back if I had any other problems. We exchanged details I then tried to take some pic’s I got one and then was obstructed from taking any more.
Had a chat with my insurance broker who reassured me a little and told me they deal with about 5-10 fake whiplash claims a week, and was told not to worry and to wait and see how things develop.
Any advice would be appreciated.

YOu OK?
Hope you are fella - I'd be most upset in such a situation...
Think carefully if you can - do you recall if the car you hit in the back had working brake lights? Known tactic if they are a BS claim!

I have the following info on good authority :
1. You are only required by law to provide details to 3rd party if there is damage to their vehicle or injury to occupants.
2. Details required to be provided would be name & address of driver of your car & owner if different plus registration number (damage only).
3. Insurance info only legally required to be provided if injury caused or alleged by other party.
If all required info not exchanged must be reported to Police Officer or at a Police Station asap & in any case within 24hrs.
In abscence of 3rd party injury or damage you are CANNOT be legally required by the other party to provide any details whasoever, however, an attending Police Officer might ask you to furnish details as they can do this even in abscence of a 3rd party request.
If allegation of injury to 3rd party, a manner of driving, or, (as in this case), a fear of subsequent violence then I would have thought Police should attend subject to their local policy &/or resources. Regardless of this Police policy is to record all injury accidents.
Your post indicates NO damage but is a little unclear unclear if injury was actually alleged or caused only that the ambulance was declined.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that AW8, thats right there was no damage what so ever, and i have a pic and one semi obscured pic, regards the injuries there was very little chance from the speed of the impact being very very low, not even registering on the spedo. and through out showing a very aggressive manner throughout, but claimed to have neck pain once they pulled up around the corner.
