Aircon Compressor and Warranty Direct

Hi all,

What a busy few months. Working away in the USA and upon my return get nagged at that the aircon has packed up. Thought it would be a simple regas but no.

Booked it into local Indy who informed me that the compressor has had it and that a new one is needed.

Contacted warranty direct about issue and they said they would liaise with my garage.

Low and behold warranty direct have agreed that a new compressor is needed and they would pay. Here's the best bit, they don't want a recon or a part from ECP but a genuine BMW one.  On top of that they are paying for the regas.

Total bill £1576.

So far I've had the aircon and 2 calipers all through WD!!!

Thats excellent!

I'm looking to take out policy with them. Did you choose independent or franchise dealer?

Hi Sonny 007.

I got the quote off the net and then they ring you within 25 minutes.

I got the franchise rate and a load of other extras for less than the internet price.

Did BMW do the repairs? and were you offered a hired car?

BMW did the warranty work.  Unfortunately i couldn't have a hire car as the vehicle was still drivable according to Wd. I could have had a courtesy car from BMW if i waited 8 wks to book it in.

At the end of the day you have to pay the whole bill yourself at the repairing garage and then WD send you a cheque for the amount they will reimburse.

I pay 50% of the part and 350 excess and thats it.  WD pay the rest and tbh they have paid up within 10 working days.

I paid an initial £70 to have a mechanical check done over the car which allowed the wear and tear to kick in from day one instead of 90 days later.

So far I've claimed for 2 front callipers and the ac.

so you have to pay 50% of parts bill? and a £350 excess

just a recon/ non genuine m3 air con pump is £230 an oem is £850 so only 25%
labour time to fit is 3 hrs max so even at £100p/h dealer rates is only £300?
