Aftermarket wheel spacers

Post by V12 EGO » Wed Aug 28, 2013 11:13 pm

Evening all,

My X5 has the dynamic pack on it with style 213 19s. I am considering upgrading to 20s for next summer with the arch extensions but the offset on the style 213s is quite high so they will look pants with the wheel arch extensions.

I see I have two choices, buy M-Sport 19s or use wheel spacers. The difference in offset is 11mm at the front and 33mm at the rear.

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on wheel spaces? This is further complicated by the fact that I may obtain 18" wheels with winter tyres.
Regards,

James

Do you really need the wheel arch extensions?

I would recommend finding a friendly forum member who will allow you to swap their 20s for your 19s to see what it looks like. It'll probably look quite good.

Thanks for the reply. I suspect 20s would protrude outside the standard SE bodywork without the extensions.

Hi there

You are correct they will stick out past the level of the arch and look stupid.

The extended arches can be bought as a kit and do not need any other parts to be changed.

Easy job too , sorry cant remember how much the parts cost but seem to recall about £250 mark.
