Driver's door handle carrier failed at the weekend. The new replacement has just arrived but does not seem to have any lubrication applied - should I lube the moving parts and if so, with what?

i didnt lube my replacement, just fitted it as it came.
the trouble is, i thought, lube could freeze up in winter and make the thing break again.

Fair point! - BTW is the handle lighting connection difficult to undo without breaking it?

no idea if its a good or bad idea but I had some copper grease to hand so I threw that a replacement I fitted to the wifes car. Others suggested some white grease...but I didn't have any...and I'm tight

smoothered the bits where it hinges
