Hi, been lurking on here for a few weeks after taking delivery of a 60 plate LCI 4.0d M Sport, so thought it time to say hello.

Had been looking for a 4.0d M Sport for a while, when one eventually came up (that someone hadn't beat me to, by putting a deposit over the phone on the day it was listed).

Car is white, AUC, has all the bells and whistles apart from Pro Audio (which is a bit of a bummer) as all my previous cars have had whatever the premium audio was (Bose, B&O, H&K and B&W)...

So far, happy with the car, it had/has a few issues that were not spotted by the supplying dealer (who were terrible and whom I would never recommend to anyone), so it is currently waiting on a new drivers door handle (comfort access doesn't work from drivers door).

Biggest irritation at the moment is the mirrors not folding when the car is locked, I know this can be dealer activated for a cost, but I'm not prepared to pay for something that should be supplied as standard.

Previous car was a Jaguar XFS - which wasn't big enough for the increasing family and I also have a BMW e34 M5 lurking in the garage......

Anyway,

That'll do for an intro,

Cheers Steve

Welcome.  Sounds like you have a good find.  Check the Comfort Access key batteries as that may be the issue.

You may find that mirror folding won't be activated as BMW themselves have classed it as a 'safety hazard' and Dealers won't do it for you.

It can be done, but you need to look at somewhere like BMWCoders to find out how.  Most people can see no hazard, but BMW see it differently! :(

Welcome Steve - pics of the E34 please.  My old boss has one and promised me first dibs on it, but can't see him ever getting rid of it  >:(  Maybe it was because I was in my early teens when the E34 M5 was the ultimate BMW, but in my mind, it still is

The X sounds good, but as 535dboy would say, we know what they look like....

Thanks for the replies Gents..

Regarding Comfort - the door handle is faulty and is on order from Germany, roughly 4 weeks for it to arrive?
Its not the end of the world, but should have been found and fixed before I collected the car..

Wow, that's a beauty.  The E39, E60 and F10 M5s all look great, but their stance is just not as tough - maybe it's the flat bonnet line over the twin lamps, but the E34s just look the business.

Yeh, for me the e34 is a classic BMW shape.  Agree later M5's do look nice, but something about the older designs.  Much like the e30 M3.

Stunning M5, and a great car to have in the garage for those special days. Congrats on the X5 too, I couldn't quite stretch to an LCI 4.0d, but hope you get it completely sorted by the dealer soonest. I am loving my 35d, fantastic cars.

Welcome to the forum Steve,

The folding mirrors can be remotely or by pressing on the door handle a little longer than normal to close by 5 minutes of coding.

Hope you get the fault repaired swiftly!
