This is still on my to-do list but I'll be using the PDC supply now. As for the Con, does it de-activate if you turn PDC off with the button?
Was it this kind of relay http://www.maplin.co.uk/pcb-mount-low-p ... elays-2512 it has a coil resistance of 400 Ohms.

it does activate and de-activate when you on/off PDCs with the PDC switch. so that is quite handy too.. to activate and de-activate it manually.

relay is something like the one you've shown. tbh i just can't pin point exactly what i bought because i just walked into a maplin and talked to one of the nice ladies there and picked up a relay lol. but its something like what you've shown..

Thanks, definitely handy that.  I soon as I get the garden finished and get the skip off the drive I'll be tackling this mod.

Almost embarrassed to admit this but I'm struggling to remove the tailgate grip piece to start fitting my camera. I have undone the 4 t20 screws but can't seem to get the handle to move at all. I am very concerned about breaking anything but are there any clips etc? Any tips for removing this?

Great thanks sanj seen one in maplins roughly the same price, just worked out I'm gonna have to split my RCA connector to +/- to connect up to the tv module!

Sanj if I use the relay will I still get the canbus error if I use the led light supplied with the light?? I've just spoken to the seller who instals them and basically said don't listen to forums but take it to him and he would have a go at fitting it for a pretty Hefty fee!! Lol  the instructions look pretty crisp and sorta regret not going down your route of the separate camera now. Here is the eBay item number 400722316021 can you have a look and see what you think??

Cheers

That will give you the error for sure. Not because of the relay but because of the LED bulb (unless it's error free). Do a dry fit and test it - will be interesting to see how that gets installed where the current lights are (there's not much room there and the holder is quite big).

Yeah I spoke to the supplier sort of today on a bad line and he didn't answer the question of canbus errors. Is there a way round this? Can I mimic the Oem installation and fool the canbus into thinking that the conventional bulb is fitted?? Is it a resistance issue??

It is a resistance issue, but the space in there is hugely restricted. If you can send the unit back, do so. Dispute it as sending you errors and Paypal should settle in your favour. Then get the one like mine.
