Quick preview of my new wheels

Post by dpbayly » Wed Dec 18, 2013 4:57 pm

Well I bought a new set of alloys today 22's my wife doesn't know yet but she's bought me them for christmas :xmaswink:

So because she doesn't know Im keeping the at work till christmas eve then bringing them home and leaving them in the back of the motor till she's gone to bed then popping out and fitting them.

Reason for the secrecy is because my wife under the impression because we've spent so much on the house in the last 6 months that we were a little strapped for cash as we normally go crazy on presents at christmas, anyway little does she know I've been putting by a couple of hundred a week a way for a while and yesterday went and parted with 2.5K in London's New Bond Street's Louis Vuitton on a couple of pressies for her and for me I picked up these wheels and tyres so unfortunately to keep up the impression we have no pennies I cant throw them on yet....otherwise she will suspect something

So after collecting the alloys this morning and the tyres turned up at work this afternoon so popped in to fit the tyres and as I'll be fitting the wheels late at night I thought I would quickly test fit one to check there will be no issues and after standing back and checking them out I was like wow there HUGE they make my front 22's look like 19's.

Cant wait to get the on properly....

Nice rims!!

I don't normally like the look of 22's as they look out of proportion to the length of the X.

However with these,Lower it a tad to reduce the arch gap and it'll look a serious bad boy 8)

Thanks,

I think there a copy of the 214's found on the E70 and E71 but the OEM wheel only comes in 20" and I wanted 22"

I picked them up from here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251384267153? ... 1423.l2649

But I called into there shop down in Basildon as there only 60 miles up the road from me and ended up getting them for £650, nice bunch of guy's in there very helpfull and they had a lot of choice in stock to chose from but I stuck with my original choice as I like they fact they have an OEM look about them.

I then picked my tyres up through work at a good price £280+vat for all 4.

Yep, one of the perks of the job

There 285/35/22 Hankook's

The place we get our tyres from did me a great deal as they were for my own car and not being sold on.
