Hi..have just aquired a x5 which I believe you refer to as an E53. Its a 11/05 registered car but a facelift version and is a 3.0d le mans sport exclusive.
I have the following issues which I hope you can help me with.

1. I can't get my galaxy s3 lte to pair with the x5....can get as far as bluetooth pairing but when I try to discover the x5 I nothing happens...phone is ok as it pairsok with my other car..

2. I keep getting message on dashboard display saying ' check parking lights ' any ideas why this is coming up and why.

I'm sure I'll hava a load of other questions soon :)

Thanks

Gareth

Bluetooth......as above.  Too many existing pairings may be the problem.  I think it only allows four, so you need to clear any old ones first.

The parking lights sounds like one of your sidelights (front or rear) is out.  The car checks all bulbs with a short pulse to see if the filaments are OK.  If the previous owner fitted LED lights then you need a resistor in circuit to cancel the errors.

I've had that with mine , and cud be bulb failure , but it's easy to tell because normally the 'Halo' side lights
are the Park Light , if the bulb has gone then the indicator bulb lights up instead .

You can also get this from a high resistance joint on the plugs to the rear clusters.
Lights work but error comes up.

Check Bulbs, holders and plugs / connections.
