I have a clicking type noise coming from under the black plastic under tray in the middle of the car towards the passenger side. Any idea what it could be? before I start to rip it all off.

Cold day your way? Under 5 Celsius? A diesel?

Yep cold and diesel, but I thought that the webesto heater thing was under the bonnet and the exhaust for it is just in front of the plastic under tray in question? the clicking is further back than the exhaust outlet for that. or is there something to do with the webesto under that tray aswell?

The Webasto exhaust is under the front passenger seat, duck down and you'll see it. Crap design....

Listen out for it in the morning.

Yes I can see that and its got warm air coming out, but the clicking is further back than that under a plastic tray.

I'm shit with the mechanics so others can confirm but further back is it a fuel pump/filter of sorts???

the clicking is the fuel pump for the webasto, it is under the plastic tray and pulses the fuel out, thats the clicking sound you hear, quite normal

I had a webasto on my E39 and I remember thinking the car was on fire one morning because of the smoke coming out from under the passenger side, until i bent down and saw it coming out a little exhaust pipe!
