Heater working full when switched off

Done a 60 mile journey today just as stopping turned heater off but it kept on working on full , stopped the car & switched off but was still on full , after 5 minutes checking various fuses it switched itself off & after an hour went back to the car it was working fine ! Any ideas as the car is also difficult to start ?
Changed the battery to a heavier duty one last year , has been dealer maintained from new & has 65,000 miles on . Will changing the hedgehog stop the problem as I am getting sick of jumping the car ?

Certainly sounds like the FSR/Hedgehog is about to die.

DIY. Have a search on here. Several folks have done it. Fiddly if you have large hands.

DIY job, located behind centre console. I'm sure there's a thread on replacement on the board. Shout if you can't find it or get stuck.

I've always bought mine from main dealer, 2 year warranty with them (apparently). I personally wouldn't trust a non branded part but that's just my opinion. Last one I bought was about 3 months back, about £75 from memory.
