Iphone Cradle

Is the standard BMW iphone cradle worth the £90 or so they charge for it or is it simply a convenient place to put your phone?

Currently use the old white cable method for in car charging!

I'd just use the apple cable for charging but if you have bmw apps installed you need the media cradle that does the apps and charging but that stupid money!

Worsy! It's a standard iPhone 5.

What do BMW apps do in car?

Use up your monthly data allowance!  It gives you Internet radio and a few other functions like Farcebook.

You need option SA6NR in the car.  If it's not there then a normal iPhone 5 cradle would do. It also connects the phone to the external sharkfin aerial.

So the basic £90 cradle is for charging and improved reception only? Any clever features need the connect cradle at £160?

That's the media cradle that connects your phone,charges and to the CIC for the BMW APPS not a lot more for the money!
