any sparkys on here
Did mine a while ago. To be honest it just tests your ability to read and understand the regulations. Exam itself is easy enough. Being the age I am the strangest thing was doing the exam on a computer rather than the traditional exam paper.

Hello and thanks
Finally an update from garage and car is ready to pick up!!!! Not sure on exact problem but a pin in the handbrake had come out but the vibration/noise were transferring to the handbrake assembly so it sounded like a gearbox issue. Had a creaking rear ball joint sorted while it was in so all back th...

Hello and thanks
Well 6 weeks into ownership and my car is currently sitting in a cold garage with a suspected gearbox fault. Started making what I can only describe as a grinding noise as I pulled away and within 1/2 mile was constantly making a noise. Only done about 400 miles since I bought the car and not notice...

It's the wide open windows that are more of an issue - especially living near Manchester. My missus has a celica and that locks automatically.

Actually I have used the wrong term. Forget what it's called now but it's just having a 3 year olds knee in your back pretending he's Spider-Man and managing to keep the unlock button pressed. Happened the first day I had the car and wondered what was going on.

I have stood next to my car and pressed the button 2 times to open the car yet I've lost count of the times, while playing with kids with keys in my pocket, that I have come out to an unlocked car with wide open windows. Comfort access is not all good.

New LED kit
You are absolutely right. If these hasn't been ok I would have probably gone back to standard. I was really surprised though when the first lot performed so badly as I didn't expect any issues with interior LEDs.

Re: New LED kit
Kit I got was this one - http://www.bimmian.com/IXBX5AUYY Ignore the xenon bulb bit as this is the full kit as per the first pic in the thread. Interior is a lot brighter. Biggest difference I noticed so far is the new modules for the boot really light it up. OEM and the first set of bulbs are prett...

Re: New LED kit
Iphone pictures so not the best - the first 3 were taken within minutes of each other so the replacement unit is actually a lot brighter than the others but the exposure gets changed by the phone :/ Standard OEM filament - http://i49.tinypic.com/2r6ju5k.jpg The first LED - http://i45.tinypic.com/358...

They no longer seem to be available on the website although the 'brand'/supplier was dabhees. To be honest th...

Re: New LED kit
You may well be able to get a full kit and indeed I got a full set of LED's for £30 but when they start burning out its not so good. I saved for a fair while and spent several months finding a car in the condition that this one is in so I'm happy spending a bit of my hard earned getting it where I w...

New LED kit
I mentioned in another thread that a burning smell in my car was traced to overheating LEDs that I had recently put in the car. On investigation all the festoon type were getting hot enough to melt the solder on the circuit board. Having initially decided to go back to stock I decided to give it one...

New X5 - Couple of Questions!
I have the intravee for my iPod which has settings for locking the doors. Lock at approx 10mph and unlock when park selected. Not sure if it would work on a manual though. Also allows other easy tweaks such as auto folding mirrors, min number of flashes on indicators.
