Re: Suspension squeaks

Ok here's the update. The squeak was eventually traced to the large bolt that connects through the lower wish bone behind the rear wheel carrier. It was squeaking inside the carrier as the wishbone flexed up and down, plenty of WD 40 later and no more squeak..... I've now got a complete lower wishbo...

Rear Wishbone

This is a follow up from my previous suspension squeaks post. So yesterday I spent some time replacing the upper rear control arm, the large bent arm at the top. Alas the squeak is still there arghhhhhh. So upon further investigation, lubricating, tapping, loosening, tightening, I still cannot pinpoi...

Re: Suspension squeaks

Im quite happy to change the rear ball joint or the bushings or even the rear springs. BUT i dont want to change things on a guess or unnecessarily, id rather confirm whats is causing the noise and rectify that, before the squeaking drives me mad....... Its reminding me of driving a horse an...

Re: Suspension squeaks
on mine it was number 2 in the picture, see what I mean with loosen the bolt to stop the squeak, if that works it that one, but it could be any of them http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=FB72&mospid=47739&btnr=33_1029&hg=33&fg=30
Thank...

Suspension squeaks

I've read previous threads about this and checked the upper control arms which seems to cause suspension squeaks and creaks. But upon looking underneath over the weekend it would appear that the noise is coming from the actual air springs! Is this possible, I'm thinking of doing a conversion to norm...

Update existing Xenons

I have existing Xenons (non HALO) on a pre- face lift Sport.
I'd like to freshen the front up with some new lights with Halos.
Do I have to use Xenons again as there don't appear to be many available, although I've come across various Halogen update headlights.

Re: Recode Check System on Start for SLS error

That sounds at least some part promising, even if it stays off for a month or two at a time, I don't load the car up that often so it shouldn't be an issue. The main question is how to do it, I've looked through the menus and even coded the alarm to beep on close and open, this confirms that the pro...

Re: Scanner help

I did this last week. Check on google for the windows 7 driver, I think it linked to a thread on this forum, download it, then plug in your scanner with the USB and it should find the software when you choose update driver. One thing to remember is the scanner will not show on your laptop when you s...

Recode Check System on Start for SLS error

I have the dreaded Self Levelling Suspension Inactive warning on constantly now after replacing a faulty ride height sensor, it was intermittent prior to this. The message has now been on for over a month now with no change to ride or handling so I know their are no leaks etc..... I've read that it ...

Re: Wiper blades

Bought some Bosch Aero for mine last week and they were useless, they left an eight inch gap in the centre of the wiper across the drivers side of the screen. I contacted the eBay vendor who is sending out replacements as he thinks I must have had a faulty one, I shall advise once fitted, but the pr...

Re: SAT NAV Aux Input

Thanks for the info guys. I don't have a tv tuner so I'm not sure if it will have the loom in the boot and there is definitely no extra connector behind the sat nav. I've been looking at the intravee2 route as it offers full iPod / iPhone integration and offers other items such as folding mirrors on...

SAT NAV Aux Input

I bought an Aux input lead from ebay and set about searching the web on how to connect it. I took out the Monitor and the glovebox as directed, but could not find the Aux connector anywhere. I was of the understanding that if you had a wide screen Sat Nav there was an Aux input tucked away for futur...
