The SOS alarm is a code reset according to the manual. Read out and delete. The code will be generated by the telephone control unit.
I’m not sure if the 3G switch off is affecting as the system should be clever enough to look for a 2G signal if it can’t find a 3G one.

If it didn’t have self-levelling there would be a headlight aim control thumb wheel on the light switch in addition to the instrument lights dimmer.

Where is the RDC module/transmitter ???!!!
The RDC module (A85a) is showing as being here:
There may also be antennas in each wheel well behind the arch liners.
There is an antenna module (B46a) underneath as well.

Definitive build spec from BMW
It’s an odd combination of options. Professional Nav but no Xenon’s even though the cleaning system was added. M exterior and interior trim as well. Definitely a mix & match car.

I’ve got the same on the E46 and new electronics seem to be the only option. They are silly money from dealers. It seems to be intermittent so likely a wiring fault. There are ribbon cables that after 20 years are likely to have gone manky. One of those “I’ll get to it” jobs as it’s the near-side ...

Interesting. I’ve never had AC looked at. Mine does offer a recharge / refresh service but the phone drone was clueless. Going direct and in person is the answer it seems.

I think we’re on the same page!
I rang my Dealer in Friday to book the car in for an off-spec (early) major service ahead of driving in France in a few weeks. I got offered a £40 ‘safety check’. When I asked for a major service they asked me what I wanted done! Given it’s off a menu based system I ...

It’s the black lever on the left side of this image. It’s actually on top of the bulb so rotate the image clockwise 90° to tell you where it actually is. In other words Left in the image is the top on the car.

Managed to find the lever for mine. It is right at the back of the projector itself, so as far forward as you can get in front of and above the actual bulb. I can only see it by using an endoscope and I’m not sure that my large hands can get in there! I’m probably going to have to remove the Xenon ...

Page 150 of the BMW On Line manual that downloads into the BMW Guide App. Publication date is August 2010. That’s from before when my X6 was built so must have been the correct version at the time. The on line manual covers all versions and all markets for E70 & E71 as well as the X5M and X6M

Reading the Owners Manual makes no mention of being able to do this other than with the lock button on the remote key.
What’s causing the key fobs to drop? Charging issue? You can charge key fobs with one of those inductive charging pads or an electric toothbrush base (Braun / Oral B type) that ...

Which version of idrive has it got? Latest version is 8.5 or possibly 9.0 (depends upon model year).

There’s pretty much always a way around ‘special’ tools. All you need is a bit of ingenuity - or in your case two extra hands and a large screwdriver
I think we can safely say that one is well….worn out (being polite).
Could well have been the root cause for your other issues too?

Halogen bulbs BMW misinformation.
On our E46 the only way to change at least one of the headlight bulbs is to remove/undo and pull forward the front bumper so you can get the headlight forward enough to get into it.
