Re: X5 to X3

Andy

I had a 3.0d e53, I wanted a new x5 but just at this moment didn’t want to over commit, I actually went to the dealer to by a new x3, but ended up buying a used one, it’s brillint, loads of leg room and the 2.0d is plenty enough power, I can’t speak about going from a e70 but I love the car

Re: Xenons

Thanks horizon I think if it’s going to be a mate of a job I might just leave as is and just upgrade the bulbs as the others have suggested! Electrical stuff is no problem as I am an electrician however car electrics is not something I specialise in and don’t want to balls it up, thought if it was j...

Re: Xenons

I have seen a few complete bi-xenon units for sale on eBay, would it just be a matter of fitting them and coding to the car or is it more complicated than that

Re: Xenons

Thanks x5sport Am I right in thinking I would need hid with reflector to go into the standard halogen unit? I will have a look into the night breakers, we drive a lot down unlit country lanes so it was just for clearer vision, my wife’s 1 series has the led headlights and they are fantastic so that’...

Xenons

Hi guys, picked up a 2014 2.0d last week from main dealer, extremely happy with the car, it had everything I wanted except the xenon headlamps, it’s not a huge problem, but I started looking into a retrofit, has anyone managed to retrofit a set? Or is it just too complicated to go from halogen to xe...

Re: 2004 e53 3.0d sport in sterling grey

When people do stuff like that you kind of want to entertain it just to wind them up! Some people and how their heads work is beyond me!

Indeed, I had to sell mine as I started a new business venture, really didn't want to but like you say needs must and it had to go!

Re: 2004 e53 3.0d sport in sterling grey

Hi eBay is normally alright, but suppose so many people use it that you do find a lot of messers on there too, really is frustrating if people mess you around. Thanks for the info, I sold my X5 last year and miss it badly, but my old man is looking at possibly getting one, and yours fits the bill, s...

Re: 2005 BMW E53 3.0d sport auto

Ahhh ok Have a look on bmminiparts.com, I ordered my kit from there, wasn't expensive and genuine BMW, the other thing you could fit is an intravee device? I have one tucked up in the boot, can connect iPod to it and retains the functions of the stereo and steering wheel for track changes etc, plus ...

Re: 2005 BMW E53 3.0d sport auto

Hi Richard, I am not sure if there is any difference in the looms or if you may need to get a different kit, one of the super clued up members on here will probably know for sure, I had a look on real oem and can't see anything, ask on the general e53 forum and someone will know
