Head unit colour

Post by Stevejspm » Tue Aug 19, 2014 11:15 am

Morning all,

Driving down to Devon this morning, the head unit display went blank suddenly, then re-booted. When it fired back up the display was brown & yellow & sort of 'Minecraft' effect, all pixelated & old fashioned looking! Still got all functions except sat nav & still displays everything as it should. Any ideas anyone?

Could be a loose connection in the display itself - there's a ribbon connector that can work look.  Relatively easy fix though fiddly.  Several have had to do it on here.

If not then it could be the video module, or any if the connections upstream between the two parts.  Worth having a look at and re-seating the connectors in the boot modules.  Check for moisture in that section too as it's another 'known' issue if drain channels block up.

mine did this a few years ago,
i took some micro screwdrivers and took out the screen and took it apart. i just wiggled the ribbon cable connectors inside and its been fine since.
